You can pick one up when you visit the WORD booth at the PRIDE Downtown Festival, Saturday, August 25, or at a Mobilize meeting.
This fall, WORD will focus on raising awareness of the local crisis pregnancy center that misleads women by referring to themselves as a clinic, while offering only pregnancy tests and religious-based counseling. Through advertising in the Chico News & Review (in the back-to-school issue August 16 and the Best of Chico issue October 11) we will also highlight Women’s Health Specialists and Planned Parenthood as offering comprehensive reproductive health care. In these times of continuous attacks on reproductive rights, we are excited to deepen our connection to these vital community organizations.
WORD also plans to once again disrupt the Women’s Resource “Clinic’s” fall fundraiser with a protest. The fundraiser is expected to be held in early October. We’ll share more about this as details are confirmed.
